    West Valley Hospital pharmacy offers a unique working environment that allows staff to participate in a variety of pharmacy practice.  We provide ambulatory, inpatient, outpatient pharmacy services and are able to meet the demands of a fast-paced work environment that comes with servicing multiple departments simultaneously.  We are a critical access hospital pharmacy that serves the surrounding rural communities and therefore tend to have a warm, family-like feel to the culture. 


    West Valley Pharmacy Techs assist Pharmacists in the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients by answering incoming telephone calls, processing orders, developing and prioritizing compounding or production schedules, compounding a variety of medications, and gathering necessary supplies under direct supervision. Maintains appropriate inventory levels of medications and associated supplies in proportion to expected patient volumes. Participates in the ongoing maintenance of the departmental CQI and outcomes management program. The Pharmacy Technician is expected to become familiar with all aspects of Pharmacy operations and follow defined instructions/procedures to assist the pharmacist(s) in those areas assigned. Ensures that all orders and work processed are checked by a pharmacist before release from the pharmacy. All functions are performed under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

    • Prior pharmacy experience with extensive customer interaction preferred
    • Current Oregon Board of Pharmacy Technician License required
    • National Certification required through the NHA (National Healthcareer Association) or PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) within one (1) year of hire date
