    Description/Qualifications

    Key Functions: 

    • Selects appropriate radiation exposure factors according to body area, body habitus, and patient condition.
    • Uses factors to obtain diagnostic quality images consistently while minimizing radiation exposure to patient.
    • Analyzes his/her examination for completeness and, when necessary, gathers additional patient information or images beyond those called for by standard protocols.
    • Utilizing problem solving skills, reaches independent decisions, tailoring exams to the patient’s condition and level of cooperation as necessary.
    • Operates Imaging equipment, following safe operating procedures as recommended by original equipment manufacturer.
    • Performs proper care and cleaning of equipment. Observes and reports equipment malfunctions to immediate supervisor and logs them in the appropriate repair book for service engineers.
    • Utilizes the Radiant Radiology system. Inputs procedure requests and changes in the Hospital Information System (EPIC) to input procedure requests and charges.
    • Keeps procedure rooms and work areas neat and well stocked

     

    You may be an ideal fit if you:

    • Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
    • BLS is required
    • Must possess current licensure from the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) in the practice of radiography.
    • Must have good interpersonal communication skills; appropriate manner, conduct and grooming.
      Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds unaided using proper body mechanics and pass a physical capacity evaluation.
    • Must have near visual acuity, accommodation and depth perception for setting up equipment.
    • Must have good manual dexterity to adjust machine controls and arrange, attach and adjust support devices.
    • Form perception is necessary to perceive detail in permanent copies and CRT images for quality control.
    • Must have the ability to hold in confidence any information about patients, personnel or other information of a confidential
